Most people experience headaches at some point in their life, and headaches are one of the most common medical complaints. Anyone can be affected by them regardless of their age, race, or gender. According to the World Health Organization, almost half of the world's adults will experience headaches in any given year. Headaches can be a sign of stress or emotional distress, or it can be a symptom of a medical disorder, such as high blood pressure, anxiety, or depression. Other problems can be caused by that. It can be difficult for people with chronic headaches to attend work or school regularly. Causes of Headache A lot of people complain of headaches around the world. A headaches can occur in any part of the head, on both sides of the head, or in a single location. There are different ways to think about headaches. When headaches are not caused by another condition or another underlying cause, they are classified as primary headache & amp; Secondary Headache by the International Headache Society. Primary headaches- Problems with structures in the head that are pain-sensitive can cause primary headaches, which are stand-alone illnesses. The blood vessels, muscles, and nerves of the head and neck are included in this. Alterations in chemical activity in the brain may be the reason for them. Migraines, cluster headaches, and tension headaches are some of the most common primary headaches. Secondary headaches- Secondary headaches are caused by another condition that stimulates the pain-sensitive nerves of the head. The headaches can be attributed to another problem. Secondary headaches are caused by a wide range of different factors. Alcohol-caused brain tumors, ice-cream headaches, carbon monoxide poisoning, concussion, dehydration, and use of pain medication, known as rebound headaches, are examples of headaches that can be a symptom. If a headaches is more painful and disruptive than previous headaches, worsens, or fails to improve with medication or is accompanied by other symptoms such as confusion, fever, sensory changes, and stiffness in the neck, a doctor should be contacted immediately. Types of Primary headache: There are different types of Primary Headache. 1.Tension headaches A cold meal can cause a "brain freeze." Tension headaches are the most common form of primary headaches. In the middle of the day, headaches begin slowly and gradually. The person can feel a constant, dull ache on both sides of their body, as if they have a tight band around their head or neck. Episodic attacks are usually a few hours in duration, but they can last for several days. For a period of at least 3 months, chronic headaches occur for at least 15 or more days a month. 2.Migraine headache : A throbbing, throbbing pain on one side of the head is what a migraine headaches can cause. . The Headache here may be accompanied by: blurred vision light-headedness nausea Aura is known as a sensory disturbances Migraine can have a significant impact on the life of an individual, and is the second most common form of primary headaches. According to the World Health Organization, migraines is the sixth highest cause of days lost due to disability worldwide. It can take between 2 and 3 days for a migraine to go away. 3.Rebound headaches : excessive use of medication to treat headaches is the cause of rebound or medication-overuse headaches. They're the most common reason for secondary headaches. They usually start early in the day and keep going throughout the day. They can improve with pain medication, but get worse when it wears off. Along with the headaches itself, rebound headaches can cause a range of symptoms, including neck pain, a feeling of nasal congestion, and reduced sleep quality. 4.Cluster headaches: For a period of weeks to months, cluster headaches can occur suddenly once per day up to eight times per day, and they last between 15 minutes and 3 hours. There can be no headaches in between clusters, and this period can last for months to years. The affected area may become red and swollen, the eyelid may droop, and the nasal passage on the affected side may become stuffy as a result of the one-sided severe pain caused by cluster headaches. Tips to avoid Headache- (diet advice for headache) - It's a good idea to stop eating food that makes you vata dosha like- horse gram, dried food, packaged & amp; refrigerated products, cold drinks, ice cream and other things. – Don't eat spicy or heavy to digest foods like sago or pickle. -bread, Idli-dosa, cakes are examples of bakery products that should not be eaten. – don't eat fast food like pizza, burger, vada pav, missal etc. -Avoid Suppressing natural urges like urination, defecation etc. -It is a good idea to avoid the cold breeze that comes from the east side. -Avoid excess alcohol, tobacco & amp; smoking; also avoid late night parties or study.
