Basti is one of the Panchakarma Procedures which is more beneficial and done in Varsha ritu ( June end to september). Basti is procedure of medicated enema done after snehan swedana ( massage , steam). In this procedure medication for enema is changed according to disease , prakruti, age etc. of patient. Basti is usually done for 7 to 8 sittiings ( 7 days) and time required for it is around 1 hour daily. Basti is considered as half treatment of any vata disease.
